The story follows Achuthan (Maniyanpilla Raju), who is in love with his cousin Nandini (Menaka). However, her father, K. P. Thankappan Nair (Nedumudi Venu), insists that she marry someone who has returned from abroad. To win her hand and reclaim his mother’s property, Achuthan pretends to have gone to Dubai and become wealthy, while secretly staying in a nearby town. The film was a commercial success and is remembered for its humour and performances.
